I’m a follower of Jesus, amazed at the everyday beauty around me. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, artist, writer, wool-spinner-and-dyer, potter, mushroom hunter, and gardener, saved by grace.
I home-schooled four+ kids and taught English and General Studies at Community College. I owned a beautiful farm for 19 years, caring for sheep, pigs, chickens, llamas, sheepdogs, and cats.
As a girl raised in the suburbs, I knew almost nothing about country life. I also lacked courage and self-confidence. But, out of necessity, I learned how to do nearly all my own vet work on the farm. I have lots of stories to tell about that journey I hope you’ll enjoy.
I was involved with 4-H and have taught numerous history, art, canning, writing, and parenting classes and seminars, and been a retreat speaker. I’ve demonstrated pottery, batik, block printing or wool spinning at shows from the Midwest to the Northwest.
I don’t always get things right, but I’m loved by the Creator of the universe and He makes me want to brush the dirt off my jeans and keep trying. I hope I can brighten your day and give you a reason to brush the dirt off your jeans and keep trying, too.
